  1. Viewing figures • 22nd June 2008 = 349,000 viewers. • 29th June 2008 = 343,00 viewers • 11th November 2008 = 520,000 viewers. • 16th November 2008 = 449,000 viewers. • 23rd November 2008 = 396,000 viewers. Due to firce competition from big shows like Big brother and Friends it was rare to find Smallvile in the top 10 at time thus making it difficult to find viewing figures.

  2. Audience Profile

  3. Standard Occupational Classification • Considering how well known the main characters is it is quite difficult to even consider if a this would even apply to the show as fans of Superman and the character's related franchise could come from all walks of life. • But at the same time the show features the young Superman as not been rich or needing to apply for the workhouse, so we could assume that the show targets average pay people to try and get them to relate to the character.

  4. Life style • Someone who is a bit of a “comic book nerd” would most defiantly be interested in this show. • People interested in Sci fi/ drama would also find this show interesting.

  5. Age, Gender, Ethnicity and Sexual orientation. • 16-21 (due to the character been around that age himself it allows this age group to relate more to the character) • Male (as the whole series can trace its origins back to comic books and females usually show no interest in comic books at all) • Ethnicity and Sexual orientation shows no signs of favouring one type.

  6. Audience Needs

  7. Males • Fighting • Adventure • Maybe one or two plot twists • Mature/explicit language

  8. Females • Drama • Romance • Romance which also happens to tie in with plot • Some explicit/mature language but not as much as males

  9. Children • Action • Adventure • Fighting • The hero winning • No explicit/mature language

  10. Elderly • A very in-depth plot • Mystery • Realism • Very little Mature/explicit language

  11. Genre

  12. So what Genre is it? • Action Adventure • Drama • Sci Fi

  13. Why is that ? • Action/ adventure = the show features Clark Kent (Superman) in his high school years before he actually becomes Superman so no doubt there will be instances were Clark will have to fight of some form of “baddie”. • Drama = Superman in high school given how young the character is and what he will later evolve into there will be times when the character will be required to make difficult decisions which just screams drama.

  14. Sci Fi= The show features a super powered teenager going about his life while attending high school along with that added fact of aliens been introduced during the series.

  15. Legal and ethical Constraints
