  1. Session Five: SHARE

  2. SHARE • SPLASH is a natural approach that requires sensitivity to the occasion accompanied by a strategic plan to build relationships for the Kingdom. • It is not about sharing a ‘presentation’, it is about sharing life. 1 Thess. 2:8 “We cared so much for you that we were pleased to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our lives, because you had become dear to us.”

  3. Sharing requires love and empathy. • Loving others does not have to be deserved or merited (Romans 5:6) • It is our understanding of the power and consequences of sin that compels us to share life. • Without The indwelling of the Holy Spirit, man is capable of doing anything. • The consequences of sin. (Romans 6:23).

  4. Sharing requires love and empathy. • Before Jesus commissioned the disciples in Matthew 10, He shared both His passion and His vision. • “When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were weary and worn out, like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 9:36

  5. Sharing requires love and empathy. • Jesus shared both Good and Bad News • The Good News - The harvest is plentiful, • The Bad News - the workers are few. Matthew 9:37 • Pray to the Lord of the harvest. Matthew 9:38 • Not to send someone • Send Me! (“Go Ye”) • Paul tells of the compulsion of his ministry in 2 Corinthians 5:14. • The love of Christ compels us so that we no longer live for ourselves.

  6. Sharing Life Requires Willingness to Sacrifice (John 4:27) • When Jesus ministered to the woman at the well the disciples were on lunch break. • They were hungry for food (32) • Jesus was hungry for finishing the Father’s work. (34) • Jesus was willing to sacrifice His physical needs in order to meet the spiritual needs of the woman.

  7. Sharing Him Requires That We Put The Needs Of Others Above Our Own. • J-O-Y, (Jesus, others, you) • Consider the text: Philippians 2:3-4 (may be the most neglected text related to evangelism). • Adopt the Attitude: 2:6-11

  8. Sharing Him Requires A Willingness To Be Vulnerable. • Our Sacrifice: • When the woman grabbed the cloak of Jesus, He knew that virtue had gone out. (Luke 8:43) • A difficult passage is found when Jesus warns His disciples that they must expect persecution, misunderstanding, betrayal, and hatred (Matthew 10:16-23).

  9. Sharing Him Requires A Willingness To Be Vulnerable. • His Sufficiency: • Matthew 10:20-32 has some of the most magnificent promises in Scripture. • The Spirit of our Father will speak through us (20). • The Father will watch over and cast out fear (26-31). • Christ will acknowledge us before the Father (32).

  10. Your turn! • 1. Jesus said – “The harvest is abundant but the workers are few.” Is that still true? Why? • 2. What does Paul mean when he instructs us to have the mind of Christ? • 3. What point in this lesson was most challenging to you?

  11. Your turn! • 4. What sacrifices have you made to share Him? When you think of those persons you listed in your sphere of concern, what sacrifice might be required to share with them? • 5. Recount a time when you shared Him and discovered that He was sufficient to meet your every need?
