  4. Suggestions for Classroom Use HOTS: • Debating an issue presented in a video • Expressing an opinion about content • Making connections to other known events • Inferring or predicting • Adding ideas to those presented in a video

  5. Suggestions for Classroom Use LOTS: • Teaching wh- questions • Grammar (writing sentences): • Present progressive (What is happening?) • Past simple (What happened?)

  6. Suggestions for Classroom Use Other ideas: • Presenting students’ papers as a way to begin discussion • Polling (content in video) • Flipped Classroom: Video tape what you want to teach , have students begin to react at home, continue discussion in the classroom

  7. Pros • Discussion provoking • Collaborative • Can be synchronous or asynchronous • Promotes thinking, reacting and writing • Can be linked to, emailed, and/or embedded to your website • Owner can manage or change permissions

  8. Cons • In order to participate in a Vialogue you must sign up with an email address -- for the younger grades this can be a problem
