  2. James Cook was born • James Cook was born in England 1729.

  3. The reason he sailed He sailed for the country of England because they wanted him to go to Tahiti to study Venus as it passed between the Earth and the Sun. He also had orders to find the fifth continent and study the plants, animals, and native peoples.

  4. The results of his voyage were • That he observed and recorded the movement of Venus. He also found Australia and New Zealand and mapped their coasts and brought back plants and animals from Australia.
