Overview • Vision • To be a core organization of Internet Community in Asia Pacific • To be a stable organization with appropriate resource and fund; and • To be an active and alive organization being operated by Next Generation. • Mission • Learning its history in each county and experience from seniors. • Sharing information among community. • Activating Next Generation (APNG) activity through APNG Camp. • Providing place and opportunity of discussion for developing countries. • Challenging to create new Internet growth opportunity.

  6. Overview • Geographical CoverageThe term Asia Pacific is loosely applied in an inclusive way. Any country within the Pacific Rim and in the continent of Asia is welcome to participate in the activities of APNG. • Current Participating EconomiesAustralia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Bhutan, Cambodia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, USA and Vietnam.

  12. 9th APNG Camp - Report • Held in China from 27-30 August 2007. • 60 participants • 28 fellows from 13 economies • Speakers from LEARN, Sri Lanka, .ASIA Domain Registry, Taiwan, intERLab, AIT, Peking University, China, Tsinghua University/ Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. • Generous sponsorship from leading organizations. • 9th camp reports at http://www.apng.org/9threports.htm

Fellowship Overview • Objective • To provide opportunity to young researchers of developing countries to participate in APNG Camp. • Awarded Package • Fellowship for International ApplicantsFellowship covers registration fees, local accommodation and meal expenses, local transportations and (full/part of) the roundtrip airfare. • Fellowship for Local ApplicantsSpecial fellowship package to encourage local participants which covers registration fees, local accommodation, meal expenses and traveling expenses (train-fare) 106 Fellows granted fellowship since 5th APNG Camp

Accomplishment - Feedback from attendants • APNG camp is an opportunity for everyone to learn not only about the Internet, but also about the culture and customs of other countries and a place to form lasting friendships. We were able to share some thoughts that had never come in mind before. We were also able to understand how each Asia Pacific country differs in the use of the Internet technology.   15. Team building and Costume party • The 9th Camp introduces team building. Five groups were created on the first meeting to explore Xi'an: • History • Transportation • Lifestyle • Entertainment • Food & Beverages • One of the things that make APNG camp interesting and special from any other regular meetings is the fun events that it organizes during the period of the camp. That makes APNG really a “CAMP”. • After a whole day presentation, everyone is having fun in this activity. Singing, dancing and even has a morning exercise representing each countries national dance, classic and modern song in their language.
