  4. Implementing V Upgrading • Implementing • Install the R12 software and implement it to reflect your enterprise structure and operating practices. You then load any historical data from your legacy system to the freshly implemented R12 system. • Upgrading • You install the R12 software and use Oracle supplied tools and scripts to transform your historical data in place to the new Release 12 data model. The standard upgrade process converts your existing setup to R12.

Diamond Resorts – EBS Global Upgrade • COMPANY OVERVIEW • Diamond Resorts International®, with global headquarters in Las Vegas, Nev., is one of the largest vacation ownership companies in the world with nearly 150 branded and affiliated resorts and nearly 23,000 guest beds in 17 countries with destinations throughout the continental United States and Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia. Industry Business: Vacation Ownership/Resort Management • CHALLENGES/OPPORTUNITIES • Diamond Resorts an existing client on R11.5.10 operated on two instances that separated their U.S. and European financial systems. The customer needed to move to a single instance in order to promote global practices. DRI also is migrating from their HR/Payroll Service Bureau to Oracle HRMS. • ORACLE SOLUTIONS • Diamond Resorts chose Oracle Consulting to support their re-implementation and upgrade to R12. Oracle’s R12 experience was a deciding factor in selecting Oracle Consulting. • PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS • Oracle Consulting and Diamond Resorts jointly led the project.
