Outline • News from last DTCM meeting (Andrea) • Update on Activity planning EO, EM1, EM2 (Christophe, Hans & P-Ange, Antti & Raphael) • Status conformity WS’s: 20,155,21,3,25 (Nicolas) • What has been done so far and what will be done next. Status agreement with Alice for 162. Procedure for electrical inspections. (Mark) • Tour de table • Visit to WS 166 (with Jerome) • AOB

News MARS Recruitment • Board for an engineer in micro-fabrication processes (CP E) under preparation (short list done) • Just published: Expert Engineer in Mechanical Design and Simulation (CP E)for EO section • VN: https://ert.cern.ch/browse_www/wd_portal.show_job?p_web_site_id=1&p_web_page_id=10751 • Closing date: 16/4 • Under preparation: electro-mechanical tech (CP C), focus on irradiation facilities

  4. Students Summer students (deadline expired) • Projects submitted: • 2x Gas Project (R.Guida, B.Mandelli) • 3x Silicon detectors R&D SDD lab (M.Moll, D.Muenstermann, M.Fernandez) • 1x LHCb RICH upgrade (T.Gys) • 2x Cooling (P.Petagna) • 2x MPGD (L.Ropelewski) Temporary work children of CERN personnel (DT internal deadline for proposals: 25/3) • Office work, light or  heavy manual work, electronics, electrical, mechanical, technical drawing, computing, office computing work • 4 weeks in the 17 June to 13 September • Candidates: 18 – 24 y old • Allowance will be CHF 1500.- • Current Proposals: • 2x Gas Project: work in the electrical and mechanical workshops (P.Carrie)

  5. Arrivals in DT + 3 Stagers (2 cooling, 1 Controls) • DT Students quota: • 35PM in 2012 • 42PM in 2013 Next Technical Student Committee: 23/4

  6. PH-DT Investments Proposals 21.1.13: Sent a memo to PH requesting the replacement of the WireBondingMachines in the Bonding facility ~ 150 kCHf in 2013

  7. Others • A.Onnela has agreed to chair a working group to evaluate the use of DT cars (fleet, rules of use…) • M. Hatch is collecting contributions for the PH-DT Annual Report, deadline March 8th • Next PH-DT Group Seasonal meeting & coffee will take place on April 24th pm

  8. Activity Requests • New: Serto available to develop fast robotic fittings for upgrade (EO design) • New: Charles-Henri for PH-EDU requests some integration studies to EO (CB to follow up) • New: ATLAS request for a machining tech: non continuous job, very short notice jobs, approx. for 2 m • New: MICE B-measurements 5 weeks of work in England by PA.(they are ready) • New : Totem upgrade: in discussion DT involvement • Others ? • Started: IDEP opening / closing: involvement EM2 (FP, JB, ND, HD, AC) • Started: TRT leaks repair: involvement EM2 (FP, JB, ND, HD) • Started: New thermal mockup for IBL services: (FX, CB and technician TBD) • Started: Clic Pixel : JD x design, DP x composites, BB and PC needed for tools and parts / assembly of thermal mockup • Started: CMS tracker upgrade: JD gradually involved

Already Know Requests Reminder (other tasks from list of last meeting) • B-field measurement activities and magnet repair for LHCb (OJ, PA and Francois): (delayed to September) • MICE experiment: 5 weeks of work in England by PA. (was delayed) • Pierre Ange reported the progress dismantling the magnets in the PS area: MP22 dismounted and being stored 185, HARP magnet now being dismounted and controlled by RP on march 6, then stored in B185; for the DIRAC magnet, the infrastructure is being dismounted. The interim should be prolonged till April (Mar to check with PB) (on- going) • Atlas Micromegas, work continues in EO / EM2 (maintain present engagement) (on- going) • Cooling design support request by Paola: (on- going) • Requests To Be Confirmed: • New request: André Rubbia requesting support for construction of a big magnet (coils) for the Neutrinos with Finlande (LBINO). AR should contact EO for studies early 2013. (NO News) • Projet LAGUNA : Nicolas mentionne qu'il sera impliqué dans ce projet suite à la demande de André RUBBIA -> plus d'informations à venir (TBC)

  12. Towards conformity of the machines - Summary table with the budget cost estimates Summary of the accumulated budget to solve non conformity for machines in DT and DT/Atlas – DT/Alice common workshops: in order of suggested priority

  13. DT WS’s and conformity • WS 162We estimated before 46000: new official quote 28 K by scraping some old machines. Agreement needed urgently with Alice on sharing (in order to get sufficient priority for the work to be done by MME along this year). • WS20, 21, 3 and 155: Nicolas is proceeding (material ordered) with conformity Some machines scrapped In the order of 6K About 20 K to be shared at 50%
