  3. Eph 5:21 This word was a Greek military term meaning "to arrange [troop divisions] in a military fashion under the command of a leader". In non-military use, it was "a voluntary attitude of giving in, cooperating, assuming responsibility, and carrying a burden".

  4. Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. Submit – idios 1) pertaining to one's self, one's own, belonging to one's self

  5. Eph 5:22 Other Versus Matt 9:1 Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. Matt 14:13 When Jesus heard [it], He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. Luke 18:28 Peter said to him, "We have left all we had to follow you!"

Eph 5:26-29 26 …to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

  10. Eph 5:26-29 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church- 30 for we are members of his body. 31 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ 32This is a profound mystery – but I am talking about Christ and the church.

  11. Eph 5:33 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Love – agapaō Meaning - To welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to love dearly respect–phobeō Meaning - Reverence
