  1. Kent's Carers contribution so far: There are an estimated 130,000 Carers in Kent. If each one has contributed the equivalent of £2000 worth of care per year, over the last ten years they have contributed £2.6 billion Kent's Carers and their organisations, together with KCC have established the Carers Strategy

  2. How Kent's Carers will continue to contribute to Transformation: The Kent Carers Reference group will continue to develop and feedback to the Carers Advisory Group. It intends to develop good web based communication for Kent's community of Carers, to enable mutual support and better communication between all parties

  3. Carers level of support for Transformation: Carers have achieved much in their own right and are likely to support Transformation if they perceive an overall benefit. Until more is known of how Transformation will translate in practice, caution is likely to prevail.

  4. Barriers to Achieving Transformation Lack of effective consultation, and trust Lack of tangible benefit Failure of convergence of Health & Social Care budgets Lack of collaboration between key parties Lack of good communication & system tools A lack of will to really change for the better
