  1. GATE: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering

  2. GATE Exam, Conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and 7 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). • The 7 IITs includes, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee.

  3. GATE examination score is used in admission to Masters program (Master of Engineering, Master of Technology) and Ph.D. programs in various Engineering streams. • GATE scores are recognized by several Indian public and private sector along with various institutes outside the country as well.

  4. Top streams or branches for GATE examination are Aerospace Engineering (AE), Agricultural Engineering (AG), Biotechnology (BT), Civil Engineering (CE), Chemical Engineering (CH), Computer Science and IT (CS), Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC).
