  2. Training products residing on web servers, related to a CAR document type, can be registered in the CAR, making them discoverable using the CAR Search and Browse capabilities. Users can search by Keywords, ID/Title, and Browse by Proponent, and Doc Type. Start at the Manager Menu by clicking REGISTER NEW …and Selecting DOCUMENT Next>

  3. Example: A document on Uganda’s Current Conditions exists on a proponent’s external web server. Using the registration form we can register it in the CAR as follows: Enter its Title and Select its Distribution Access Select the Remote Link button Enter the document’s Web address Select an appropriate Doc Type Enter/edit any other metadata as desired (ID, Description, Dates, keywords, POC… Click Register Note: Though not required, it is helpful to the user search process to enter the document’s IDENTIFIER and a meaningful DESCRIPTION Next>

  4. At the Verify Registration Data screen you will: Verify the registration data ….then enter registration/ change history info as desired, and click on OK (or Cancel to go back and change any data) Next>

  5. At the Registration Response screen you will: Review the registration response …. Then click OK The CAR now has registered the link for this document stored on the Web (with an associated CAR Doc Type) CAR search results will provide the web link to this document.
