CAR CLUBTues TMA ST58 • The BA Team car will be rebuilt and a new car entered into the Bedford Grand Prix competition to be held in June. • With actual engineers from Millbrook testing ground you will get hands on experience of: • Electronic motors • Fibreglass moulding • Practical skills in engineering

  3. What you will get to do: • There will be a race day in June where we will compete against other teams from across the Borough. • We will have a track day out with Go-Karts in July. • We will also have a trip to Millbrook Proving Ground. CAR CLUB NEEDS YOU!!!

  5. What is CREST award? • The CREST award is like DofE for Science and technology. • You can choose your own project to do, or you can come and join in with the science activities that are being run to work towards either a Gold, Silver or Bronze award.

  6. What will the activities be? Finger printing Running on custard Rockets Dragster racers Solar power cars Slime Crystal growing Fire Writing Giant bubbles Flying saucers musical instruments Dancing flames Chromatography Astronomy Got a better idea? Come and speak to us!

  7. Why should I come? • You will have the chance to explore your own science projects. • 28,000 awards were completed last year. • UCAS, Universities, Colleges and Employers recognize the CREST award, for its independent learning, challenge and commitment.

  8. What do I have to do? • All you have to do is decide on a project or experiment. • Research how best to complete your project and keep your research as evidence. • Carry out your project and evaluate it. • You can even use projects you are doing in other enrichments in science, maths, technology or engineering.

  9. You will also have the opportunity to take part in national science and engineering competitions- you may even be able to submit your project!

  10. ASTRONOMY – THURS TMA ST2 • We have a new telescope and will be studying for a GCSE qualification later in June. • We will go on trips to London to see the Your Universe exhibition and the Royal Observatory.
