CDC seeks resolution to de-charter 2 chapters Mary Beth surveyed 2 chapters to understand perspectives Silicon Valley - 99 Members, 20 agreed to decharter, 1 member voted against, 1 member voted to decharter and offered to serve as a leader, chapter sent funds to Sam Smith several years ago Northern NJ - 56 members, 15 members agreed to decharter and move to surrounding chapters, 1 member voted against, 1 asked about starting a new chapter in different area of NJ, no one offered to serve in leadership role Members agreed to transition to surrounding chapters  NCMA will have 117 chapters following approval of resolution

  3. CDC Defines Chapter Types Active Chapter Lite Chapter – Intent is to revive chapters and transition back into “Active” or decharter as needed Virtual Chapter (Reference attachment)

Chapter Lite Pilot Program (Reference Attachment) Intent is to transition Lite Chapters to Active Chapters by reinvigorating them Cincinnati         68 Members Balance $330.89 South Florida    70 Members Balance $5,205.57 Quad Cities       24 Members Balance $13,042.07 Heavily supported by HQ with Chapter newsletter, website, chapter meeting via WebEx/QTR, NES Rose Gazarek is Subcommittee Chair; CDC to support Pilot Program

  5. CDC to continue Defining Chapter Lite Criteria for Lite? Criteria for re-activation? Should there be defined duration? HQ support and local chapter commitment? Approach to funding Chapter Lite? Use & management of chapter funds Formalize program based on learnings

Chapter Bylaws Project Update  Chapter Relations to manage collection and reporting of Chapter Bylaws Policy needs - consistent with NCMA bylaws, must be current, must be approved by NCMA governance committee, confirm status of chapter bylaws as part of annual reporting Exploring easier reporting such as questions in annual reports

  7. CDC Next Steps Today - Decharter 2 chapters if resolved by BOD Spring 2010 Pilot the Chapter Lite concept March 2010 recommend Bylaws review process and any revised policy language to BOD July 2010 Provide formal recommendation to the Board upon pilot completion
