  4. The tradition of Holi is said to have started when Lord Krishna applied colour on the cheeks of Radha. This gave way to the tradition of playing with colours on the occasion of Holi. http://vaikundarajans.blogspot.in

  5. Every colour signifies something. For instance, red is the mark of purity while green is for vitality. Blue brings calmness while yellow brings pious feelings. http://vaikundarajans.wordpress.com

  6. “Holi is also a mark of unity and brotherhood,” adds Vaikundarajan. “Friends and relatives visit to wish each other amidst music and dancing.” At the time of burning on day one, people dance around the fire called HolikaDahan. On day two, people throw colours, coloured water and Gulal on each other. “While the festival of Holi is fun-filled, we should be careful of not eve teasing or forcing colours on people,” adds Vaikundarajan.
