  2. I broke my arm when I was skiing. I was taking a shower when the phone rang. I lost my earrings when I was surfing.

  3. All the previous sentences are in the PAST CONTINUOUS. We use it to talk about an action or event that was happening around a particular time in the past. We often use the PAST CONTINUOUS and the SIMPLE PAST together. Check the example in the next slide:

  7. INTERROGATIVE FORM WAS I skiing? WERE YOU SHE IT HE WAS WERE WE YOU THEY

  8. In this way, the PAST CONTINUOUS is used to say that a person was in the middle of a progressive action in a certain time in the past. I was taking a shower when the phone rang. I started taking I was taking I finished taking PAST PRESENT

  9. And you? What were you doing this time yesterday? What were you doing before this class? What were you doing before you went to bed yesterday?

  10. POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS AND ADJECTIVES Show to whom the things belong to. This is my car. POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVE This car is mine. POSSESSIVE PRONOUN

  11. Yours is in the first alley and ours is right next to it. Oh my gosh! Where are our cars?

  12. My car is so fast! My car is so much faster than his!
