  5. Melchizedek • Psalm 110:4 - psalm written by David - written about David’s son - this son would be David’s “Lord” - this son would have his enemies made his footstool - he would be a King (David’s son) - he would be a priest

Covenant of Circumcision • Review of Promises (vs. 1-9) • Multiply Abraham’s descendants • Will be exceedingly fruitful • Nations will come from him (Father of many nations) • Kings shall come from him • Descendants would inherit land of Canaan • Covenant would be with Abraham and his descendants • He would be their God

  14. Covenant of Circumcision • Establishes his Covenant (vs. 10-14) • Every male had to be circumcised • One the eighth day every male would be circumcised • Anyone in their house or bought had to be circumcised • Anyone who is not circumcised is to be cut off, and has broken God’s covenant

God’s Covenant to Abraham • Romans 4:11 “and he received the sign of circumcision , a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be imparted to them also.”
