  1. CERN, 2nd July 2013 STATUS OF APERTURE, CABLE, CURRENT CHOICE FROM IP TO Q4 E. Todesco CERN, Geneva Switzerland

  2. TRIPLET • Triplet cable dimensions have been fixed • Second iterationlater in the year • 20% margin looks challenging, possibility of splitting the CERN magnets to beconsidered

  3. D1 • Wewill use the LHC MB outer layer cable • Inner not possible due to short length • KEK not interested in enhancedinsulation • 30% margincouldbe large, possible to go for 6 T and 6 m length

  4. D2 • Wewill use the LHC MB outer layer cable • Field qualityseemscritical, pushingtowardslowerfields (3.5 T) • Aperture still to befixed: 95 better for FQ, 105 for energydeposition

  5. Q4 • Wewill use the LHC MB outer layer cable • Short lengthsavailable, not affecting the sparecable • Adv: no quenchheaters, cableavailable, but large current • CEA interested in usingenhancedinsulation
