  1. Carbon Footprint

  2. What is a Carbon Footprint? • A carbon footprint refers to how much Green House Gasses a person lets off into the atmosphere. • Both indirect and direct emissions are taken into account.

  3. What Factors Effect Carbon Footprint?

  4. What Factors Effect Carbon Footprint? • As shown in the previous graph many things contribute to a persons carbon footprint. • Simple things that you buy can affect you release of greenhouse gasses.

  5. How Can You Reduce Your Emissions? • At home an easy start would be to replace existing bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs, or CFLs. • Lighting accounts for almost 20% of all electricity used in homes. • CFLs use up to 75% less energy than normal incandescent bulbs. • This can help you use less electricity at home and reduce the amount of green house gasses in the air.

  6. How Can You Reduce Your Emissions? • There are some companies that only supply green energy. • By using these companies who produce electricity through renewable means you can reduce emissions. • Supporting these companies will help them grow and spread. • Eventually these sources would be available to everyone.
