  3. Freshwater • Freshwater is defined as having a low salt concentration. • Plants and animals in freshwater regions are adjusted to the low salt content and would not be able to survive in areas of high salt water concentration(oceans). 1

  6. Animal Life(Continued) Blue Gills have compressed oval or roundish bodies. Blue Gills color varies from Dark blue to purple. The water snake is the type of snake you rarely see. The water snake can grow up to 40inches long. 4

  8. Plant life(continued) • Lilly pads can grow anywhere where standing water exists. • Lilly pads are also know as Nymphet. • Cat tails are wetland plants with a unique flowering spike. • Cat tails can grow from 3 to 10 feet high. 6

  10. Physical Landscape(continued) • Lakes and ponds can range in size from a few yards to thousands of miles. • Ponds can be seasonal while lakes are generally longer. • Streams and rivers are more common than lakes and ponds. 8

  12. Human Influences(Continued) • Fishing can help keep the population of fish under control and keep the population good. • Pollution can cause many of the plants and animals to die or be sick. 10

  13. Weather • The average precipitation for fresh water 30 -60 inches of rainfall. • The average temperature is 71 degrees Fahrenheit. 11

  14. Warnings • Woman or children should avoid eating freshwater fish such as bass ,large brown trout and carp. • There are many endangered animals suck as the Hippopotamus, and American crocodile. 12
