Origen de danza • En México, su origen se remonta a la época prehispánica y a pesar de que a la llegada de los españoles los religiosos trataron de incidir en algunas de ellas “adaptándolas” para apoyarse en el proceso de evangelización, por lo que las danzas reflejan un sincretismo con vestigios de sus raíces y tradiciones.¿Quiénes pueden practicar danza? Vestimenta Los danzantes visten camisa y calzón blancos y se adornan con paliacates rojos y un bonete con un penacho en forma de abanico; también sujetan cascabeles en las piernas del calzón y en la mano izquierda portan una vara con listones de colores y cascabeles, en la mano derecha llevan un puñal o cuchillo también decorado con colores brillantes.
