What is a Local Strategic Partnership? • The LSP brings together key organisations from the Public, Private and Voluntary, Community and Faith (3rd) Sectors • It develops and agrees a Community Strategy or plan for the Borough: Bolton: Our Vision 2007 – 2017 • LSPs promote ‘strategic’, partnership working to improve the local quality of life • In Bolton, the LSP is the Bolton Vision Partnership, including: • Vision Steering Group • Six thematic partnerships • Children’s Trust • Sustainable Development Forum • LAA Agencies Group

Benefits of the LSP • The vision, aims and priorities for Bolton areagreed by all • Clear objectives set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy: Bolton: Our vision 2007-2017 • Partners’ individual plans contribute to the agreed aims and priorities • Working in partnership is the best way to tackle the most challenging issues; individual organisations cannot tackle these alone Council + Partners working together = Better outcomes for the people of Bolton

Bolton: Our Vision 2007 - 2017 • One Vision: “Bolton in 2017 will be a place where everyone has an improved quality of life and the confidence to achieve their ambitions” • Two main aims: • To narrow the gap between the most and the least well off • To ensure economic prosperity • Six priority themes: • Healthy • Achieving • Prosperous • Safe • Cleaner and greener • Strong and confident

Bolton: Our Vision 2007 - 2017 • Healthy Bolton: The priorities : • Narrow the health gap by improving the health of those living in the least well off areas • Address the causes of ill health • Tackle drugs and alcohol misuse • Promote independence • Increase physical activity and sports participation

  7. Bolton: Our Vision 2007 - 2017 • The Health Partnership: • Council • PCT • Hospital Trust • Bolton, Salford & Trafford Mental Health Trust • CVS • Health & Care Forum/Health & Care Together

  8. Bolton: Our Vision 2007 - 2017 • Includes indicators and targets for 3, 5 and 10 years • 3 Year Delivery Plan • Including Local Area Agreement (LAA) with up to 51 targets agreed with Government as important priorities • Agencies’ own plans (e.g. Council Plan)
