Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be [ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what [doth it] profit? 2For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; 5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? 1My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, [the Lord] of glory, with respect of persons. 18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all. 4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? 14 What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 9But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. 13For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. 6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? 19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 12So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, Jamse2:1-20. KJB 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 8If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 7Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

S L A I N L A M B SUB Text 11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Hebrews 10:38-39 Galatians 3:11-12. KJB 12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. 39But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. 38Now the just shall live by faith: but if [any man] draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

S L A I N L A M B Faith is so commonly taught and spoken of that many have lost what the Scriptures intend to convey. This is because faith in the Scriptures was generalized so much that many lost the meaning of the statement ‘the just shall live by faith’. This study illuminates this very statement viz-a-viz every Believers lifestyle.

S L A I N L A M B Begins Proverbs 4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

S L A I N L A M B S L A I N L A M B ~ Faith ~ This study was predicated upon the fact that these four faiths in the Scriptures were confused into one. 1. Believing faith: This faith is the consistent hoping on facts, against all odds, till they become real in application. However, contextual application of their relevant verses are on the contrary. Way back in January of 2016, we had a study ‘The Four Faith of Scriptures’. Next slides contains few verses dealing with these four different faiths.

S L A I N L A M B 1. Believing faith: Matthew 9:29 2 Corinthians 5:7 James 1:6 6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. 7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

S L A I N L A M B S L A I N L A M B ~ Faith ~ 2. The Christian faith: This faith is distinct and opposed to other religious faiths like; Islam, Hindu, Shintoism, Baha’ism, etcetera.

The Christian faith: Galatians 1:23 Luke 18::8 2 Corinthians 13:5 Galatians 6:10 Ephesians 4:11-13 James 2:5 Galatians 3:22 Hebrews 10:23 Galatians 3:2 Galatians 2:20 2 Timothy 3:8 James 2:1 Titus 1:4 20I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 1To Titus, [mine] own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, [and] peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. 8Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 5Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? 10As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith. 2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 1111 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 23But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. 22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, [the Lord] of glory, with respect of persons. 23Let us hold fast the profession of [our] faith without wavering; (for he [is] faithful that promised;) 8 … Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

S L A I N L A M B S L A I N L A M B ~ Faith ~ 3. Faithful faith: This faith is the fruit of the Believer from the HolySpirit unto being faithful in all things.

S L A I N L A M B 3. Faithful faith: 2 Timothy 3:10 2 Timothy 1:13 Galatians 5:22 2 Timothy 2:22 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

S L A I N L A M B S L A I N L A M B ~ Faith ~ Power faith: This faith is one of the gifts from the HolySpirit uniquely endowed on some Believers to do extra ordinary feats, hence it is called power faith.

S L A I N L A M B 4. Power faith: 1 Corinthians 12:9 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

S L A I N L A M B S L A I N L A M B ~ Pistis~ Be mindful of the fact that the Greek word for these four faiths is pis'-tis with varied applications to mean persuasion, that is, credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of G-D or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly constancy in such profession; by extension the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: - assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity. any reader would easily identify which was referred in the two next verses to mean the Christian faith, as opposed to the other three faiths. With these various meanings it calls for readers’ contextual application to decipher which faith was referred. The inability to do so makes it possible to confuse these faiths. Faithful faith, and But, having understood these four faiths, namely; Believing faith, Christian faith, Power faith,

S L A I N L A M B S L A I N L A M B ~ Pistis~ However, the crux of this study ‘Part One’ is to give foundational understanding of the four faiths, and to understand what faith the Scripture referred when it said ‘The Just Shall Live by Faith’ which shall be dealt with in subsequent study/studies.

Study S L A I N L A M B Faiths in the holy Scripture are so confused into one but four. It is always best to be a Bible studying Christian than a church going Christian! Till the Believer knows these differences, understanding what the Scriptures intend to say becomes lost to the reader. Contextual approach proves they are distinct from the other.
