  8. Rule #2 Fixed: DON’T WORK TOO HARD “To tell the truth, when I play with my club team I do not need to work that hard to be able to play well.” Growth: WORK HARD, EFFORT IS KEY “The harder you work at something, the better you’ll be at it.”

After a failure… Fixed Mindset: “I’d spend less time on this technique from now on.” “I would try not to do this training ever again.” “I would try to cheat in the next training session.” Growth Mindset: “I would work harder in this training from now on.” “I would spend more time training correctly for matches.”

  15. Yes… • Choose one’s attitude • Challenge one’s beliefs • Focus on what you can control • Accept others’ assumptions might be true • Expose yourself to different ways of being • Relate to growth mindset peers • Remember to play, learn and improve

  16. Growth mindset allows us to: • Embrace learning • Welcome challenges, mistakes, and feedback • Understand the role of effort in creating talent • Recognize we can improve
