  1. Distributed Applications and Middleware for Industrial use of European Networks Michael M. Resch, Peggy Lindner High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) Brussels, 19.03.2003

  2. Objectives • Provide a toolbox starting from existing and widely accepted tools to support GRID-environments • Implement the necessary changes • Test the toolbox with real applications from industry in a test bed

  3. Multidisciplinary application Code Coupling Interface MpCCI Performance Tools MetaVampir DIMEMAS Communication Library PACX-MPI QoS-Manager IP Géant European Network Infrastructure Structure

  4. Edit new configuration Execute Dimemas simulator Check results with Vampir All configurations tested ? no yes Specify best configuration Specify QoS parameter Launch job with Configuration Manager DAMIEN tools in the production phase Dimemas-Tracefile

  5. A2M M2A Vibro Acti3s Application • End-User application: • Deals with vibro-acoustic prediction for structures representative of Airbus cockpits • Exchange data between two domains: mechanic & acoustic MpCCI • Work with the EADS application shows good results • Focus on best performance and results for user application

  6. Outlook for FP6 • Establishment of a European virtual co-laboratory • Making compute resources more accessible • Large scale experiments between the sites • Results are extended to international co-operations with usage of international networks and resources
