  4. Allah says : (And we said : O Adam dwell and your wife in the paradise and eat both of you freely with pleasure and delight of things therein as wherever you will , but come not near this tree or you both will be of the zalimun).  AL-Baqarah - 35

  5. Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) said: “Once Adam slept, when he woke up, he found a woman Allah has created from one of his rib sitting beside him, he asked her: “Who are you?” She said: “A woman”> He said: “Why are you created?” She said: “To be a refuge to you”.

  6. Moslem Believer Allah created the woman as a refuge to man.  

  7. In this section we shall tackle how the pioneers of Moslem women understood refuge and serenity in its deep meaning whether as a wife, mother, sister to her brothers or Islam sister.

  9. Lady Khadiga peace be upon her

  10. The first woman to join Islam. She had what others Arab women lacked and excelled them by her faith, beauty, reputable ancestry and honor.

  11. She married twice and both her husbands died and she was a very dedicated mother to her children. She sought the help of prophet Mohamed peace be upon him in her commercial transactions being reputable for his good traits.

  12. She married our prophet peace be upon him and was elder than him by 5 years.  She responded to her folks with courage and strength and did not succumb to their discussions.

  13. Lady Khadiga was the best wife, sister, mother and our prophet was blessed by her love, cherish and care.

  14. She acknowledged her husband tendencies and realized them and helped him in fulfilling his desires.  They enjoyed a good and prosperous life.

  15. When our prophet peace be upon him headed to Ghar Heraa to attain privacy during several long days away from people and usual noise, she used to deliver food to him or approach him by herself.

  16. Years lapsed and she gave birth to girls namely; Zienab, Rukaiaa, Om Kalthoum, Fatam and boys, namely Al kassem and Abdullah.

  17. She suffered a lot due to her son's loss but did not complain to her husband having pity on him for suffering more than her.   She did her best to cherish and alleviate his suffering.

  18. Their son Abdullah (Al-Tayeb) died before he completed his nursing, Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) was very sad, Lady Khadiga said: “Prophet Muhammed, the milk had been flowed from my breast, it would be easier to me if Al-Tayeb lived until he finished his nursing”.

  19. Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) told her: “I would let you hear his voice from heaven if you want to”. She said: “My heart is now assured”.

  20. She was like a mother to our master Aly and our master Zied Ebn Haritha who was freed from slavery and treated like a real son.

  21. When our master Jebril descended on our prophet peace be upon him and he approached her shivering he put his head over her breast and said cover me, cover me.

  22. She covered and hugged him closer to her breast as he narrated to her what happened to  him

  23. She looked at him smiling and told him in a quiet tone: Be happy cousin, by Allah I wish you become the prophet of this nation and that Allah will never fail him.

  24. Her words were highly relieving and comforting to him. She was the first to adopt Islam and the first to pray behind our prophet peace be upon him.

  25. She used to visit her folks and urges all her affiliates to join Islam. She saw our master Jebril and our prophet peace be upon him told her that he asked him to bid her peace and good omens

  26. Lady Khadiga suffered like other Moslems namely; problems, torture, hunger and left her home to live with her husband at Aby Taleb alleys for three years having  patience and never complaining of such a hard and a rigid life and she stood by her husband during all his battles.

  27. When she returned home she was sick and fragile and bed ridden for three days. Her husband accompanied her in her sickness asking about heaven and Hoor El Ein and our prophet peace be  upon him assured  her that he will accompany her at heaven.

  28. Our mother in Islam lady Khadiga acknowledged how a woman should have great patience with her husband and should be like a refuge for him to approach whenever something ails him.

  29. She stood beside her husband encouraging, supporting and helping him in his mission and to endure all the hardships, harms and she was a loyal wife in problems.

  30. She was the only wife to prophet Muhammed (PBUH) for 25 years as he didn’t marry another one until she dies.

  31. She was the wife whom prophet Muhammed married as a man, although his other wives he married were according to Allah’s order not for marriage itself but to complete the spread of Islam.

  32. She lived with Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) for 15 years before the descending of Jebril and for 10 years after prophecy.

  33. Lady ‘Aisha said about Lady Khadiga: “I didn’t see Lady Khadiga but I was jealous of her as Prophet Muhammed was always mentioning her”.

  34. She said: “I never envied anyone as I did to Lady Khadiga and I was never jealous of any of prophet Muhammed’s wives as I did of Lady Khadiga. I used to tell Prophet Muhammed: “Khadiga, Khadiga, as there is nobody else in the world”.

  35. She was (PBUH) patient, helping, supporting, encouraging, transforming misery and suffering into happiness.

  36. How honorable and glorious she was as Allah had granted her a palace in heaven.

  37. The sacred soul passed away near her great husband.

  38. She was an angel exemplified in a human being, she lived for good deeds and was the subject of respect and deserved to be an example for all women.  Who else except Lady Khadiga could understand Mohamed peace be upon him.

  39. End of part One of the Wife's refuge, till we meet in the Daughter's refuge.
