September 2006/7/8 Collaborate with Cleethorpes Jazz Festival (CJF) – Thursday pre-festival special. April 2006/7 - ) April 2007/8 - ) Funding from JazzYorkshire £2000 April 2008/9 - ) April 2009/10 -) Begin to develop links with Franklin College and Grimsby Institute to arrange workshops with visiting musicians. Change Brochure design. Players Nights started.

July 2010 NEL Tourism Grant £5000, ACE Grant £10000 Link with St Peters Church for lunchtime pre fest. special • September 2010 NELTourism Grant £9000 events at McCormacks Bar, and funding toward 2011 CJF. • June 2011 bid to Youth Music to hold Gy Jazz Improv. Workshopsover 18 month.Working in partnership with NEL MAPAS (Music and Performing Arts Service), Franklin College and Grimsby Institute.£14410. Received Sept 2011. • July 2011 and 2012 NELC Tourism Grant £5000 /ACE Grant £10000 for CJF. 2011 Michael Rosen, poetry and jazz. Ukulele workshop. In ’12 Jazz for Juniors and Liane Carroll vocal workshop. Plus lunch/tea time concerts, Sunday Jazz service.Invited MAPAS Youth band to perform.

  5. December 2011 From several Jazz Yorkshire nominations we were Awarded Promoter of the Year. Pooles Music Shop Business Sponsor of the Year. • Jan 2013 A 3 year ACE grant for £50,000 refused. Not enough confirmed match funding. • March 2013 - ACE Grant £10000 for CJF, NEL Tourism grant £2000 after initially refused any. • June 2013 CJF ask audience for pledges to raise minimum of £5000 otherwise Festival would end. • THE CROWD FUNDING raised £6500 personal and £400 business pledges. • Sept 2013 Apply for ACE Grant of £50000, received Nov 2013 for 3 years funding of Jazz activities in North East Lincolnshire.

  13. Sources of Funding • Very small business donations av. £50 - £100 • Local Charitable foundation £1750 • Community Funding £1000 • PRS F bids not yet successful. • ANYWHERE else that will give money. • Local Authority Ward funding • Supermarkets, Airports etc

  14. The way forward • Collaborative working • Education • Reaching new audiences in original ways BUT • Know your audience and give them what they want. Which can be difficult when fulfilling funding criteria.
