Moving Digitized CFEB Data to DMB(Solutions) • Potential Solutions: • Brut Force – 23+ Gbps to DMB • 4 or 5 6 Gbps links ? • Increased power – concerns with supply and dissipation (assume non-issue) • High speed devices may be more sensitive to SEUs • ? SEU’s better or worse (than pipeline on CFEB) • At the very least, mock up and compare. • How to go from 96@240Mbps to 4@6Gbps (more logic?) • Reduce rate by taking advantage of low occupancy • Go from 23+ Gbps to ~1 Gbps • But Must Add: • Self triggering mechanism • Address and timestamp info • Implies more programmable logic • Reduce rates on channels by staying parallel. • 96 channels on 8 Snap12’s @ 240Mbps. (do they operate that low?) • Implies 8 ribbons/CFEB X 7 CFEBs = 56 ribbons/chamber! • Increased power still a concern • But maintains goals of motivation. B.
