  1. Sketch book assignment 4- looking for textures and organic shapes. Simulated textures are the actual textures you observe, and draw them as you see them. Try your best at observing and drawing the pattern that creates the texture. Texture’s patterns are made from variety of lines . Organic shapes are anything that is naturally occuring.

  2. Invented textures are made up in the mind of the artist. They are influenced by what we know in the real world as actual textures. The way to create invented textures are to use a variety of lines, dots, dashes, shapes, numbers and letters. Use them as a way to shade and add volume to a shape. Invented shapes or forms that are organic, are based on the idea that the line that describes the shape or form is fluid, curvy and irregular.
