  2. Ok… Where to begin.. • Step 1: Take out the yellow Goal Sheet.  • Step 2: Take out the Landmark Case Sheet • Step 3: Get the Top Teen Case Sheet • Step 4: Sit with your partner for a few minutes and look the papers over….

(YES, I tried it at home….Geez) Two really good ones have been provided for you. 

  4. Teen Cases… Get this paper from me. 2. Choose one of these cases to summarize – grab a summary sheet when you are ready. *Read through a few of them and choose the one that you find the most interesting!

Two really good ones have been provided for you. 

  6. Landmark Cases… Take out this paper – you should have it in your folder! Choose one of these cases to summarize – grab a summary sheet when you are ready. *Read through a few of them and choose the one that you find the most interesting!

  7. Partnership & Sharing the Work Ok, once you have found ONE Teen Case and ONE Landmark Case begin to summarize them using “The United States Supreme Court” Summary Sheet. You have two cases…Your partner has two different cases.

  8. The Supreme Court Summary Sheet… Get 2 from ME! Case: Date: Place of Events: Summary of the Case:3-5 Sentences in YOUR OWN WORDS Supreme Court Ruling:(Do not give a number – please provide an explanation of what they said. *You may use excerpts from the ruling here – please note in your bibliography. Personal OPINION:on the case, ruling, outcome. Do you agree or disagree and EXPLAIN why. Provide complete sentences with support for your answer.

  9. Now… • Begin to read about your cases. • Take notes on your papers (notebook first) • Use the United States Supreme Court Summary Sheet as your good copy summary sheet. * Remember: Spelling, neatness and complete sentences are VITAL!!! Nobody has time or your mistakes!

  10. At the end of this class… Tonight – Check over all work Finish terms, questions Write opinions to cases You should have two cases somewhat summarized- you could always go home and write your opinions tonight!

  11. Be Good! • Make sure you have your name on all your materials. • Keep yourself organized! (Place everything in your folder!) • Make a bibliography list! • Keep track of time… I’ll be watching. 
