  3. Equipment Heat Energy Example 1 • The most common way a wing gets energy is from columns of warm air known as thermals. • This thermal is used to lift the wing and glider and maintain altitude. • The temperature of the wing decreases as it rises and increases as it descents.

  4. Equipment Heat Energy Example 2 • Once in the air, the wing gives the hang glider energy by moving her across the sky. • The hang gliders uses this energy to move. • The temperature of the hang glider decreases as she glides because of the lower air temperatures at high altitudes.
