WISE’S NEWSLETTER October 26-30 Tests This Week Week At A Glance Tues.– Wed.– Thurs.– Fri.– SpellingAllie’s Basketball Dream Reading: Story–Allie’s Basketball DreamSkill– story elements Don’t forget to sign voc. log on Thurs. Our test on story elements will be next week. They’ll have sheets we do in class that they can look over. Math – We will continue to read & write numbers using standard, expanded, and word form. We’ll also learn how to compare numbers. M4T will begin again on Wednesday. Remember to study the starred problems. We’ll also continue practicing subtraction facts. Please practice these with your child at home. IMPORTANT REMINDERS Red Ribbon Week: Tues.-Wear camo or peace signsWed.-Wear black and whiteThurs.-Canned food (bring in all week) Friday-Bulldog colors (red, black, white) Parent/Teacher Conferences: Mon. and Tues. Awards Day: Friday at 8:30 Bruster’s Friday-$2 Book Fair and PTA: November 5 Send in drink tabs for a schoolwide contest we’re having. Also, don’t forget about collecting box tops! Language– We will continue writing paragraphs. They have one assigned for homework today that is due Wednesday for a grade. We have started a new set of Fix Me sentences with the skill being homophones. Science – We will begin a new unit on Habitats and Adaptations on Tuesday. They’ll have notes and voc. to study in their Science section. We’ll also begin a new set of Warm-Ups. Make sure they study over this material daily. S.S.—We will complete Ch.3 this week and then review. They have notes and voc. to study in their SS section. We will also begin a project on the homes of the 3 tribes. Study SC Dailies 5 for next week’s test. Spelling– Homework: Mon., 1-7 (3x each print); Tues. 8-15 (3 x each print); Wed. ABC order; Thurs. Practice Test signed: missed words 5x each. Study each night! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 100 Book Challenge Continue to read at least 1 step (15 min.) each night! Good Goal: 110 steps Better Goal: 200 steps Happy Halloween! Be safe if you go out this weekend!
