  1. A Comparison of two cars I would like to own: a Volkswagen Bug and Pilot Presented by: Bridget Redmond Project 15: Buying your first car January 12, 2012

  2. Bug VS. Pilot

  3. Let’s look at a Volkswagen Bug I would like to purchase this vehicle because it is a small and stylish car. It also has a sunroof which everyone needs. It comes in many different colors to choose from.

  4. Safety features of the Bug The safety rating of the bug is four stars. Below are some of the important safety features this car has: • Crash response system • Crash optimized front end • Four airbags • Electronic stability control

  5. Technology and entertainment features of the Bug The Bug is equipped with lots of great technology and entertainment. Listed below are some of its features: • Touch screen sound system • Ipod cable • Touchscreen navigation • Bluetooth These features are important to me because while I am driving I would not want to reach down to turn a knob for the radio. A touch screen navigator and radio is much easier. Bluetooth would make it easier to talk on the phone without having to hold a cell phone.

  6. Specifications of the Volkswagen Bug The Bug has a 2.5 5- cylinder engine. It has a manual transmission. It has been tested one of the fastest gear change. It has around 200 horsepower.

  7. City Vs. Highway Miles Per Gallon of the Bug City MPG: 19 MPG Highway MPG: 26 MPG Average price of gallon per gas: $3.75- $4 Average miles I drive per week: 80 miles Total weekly gas bill: $12-$17

  8. Now Let’s look at a Honda Pilot I am considering purchasing this vehicle because it is a bigger car that is easier to drive. There is also less risk of being hit with a bigger car.

  9. Safety features of the Pilot The safety rating of the pilot is 7.9/ 10. Below are some of the important safety features this car has: • Advanced compatibility engineering • 3 row curtain airbags • Rollover sensor • Child lock • Vehicle stability assist

  10. Technology and Entertainment Features of The Pilot The pilot is a car equipped with lots of great technology and entertainment. Listed below are some of its features: • USB audio cord • Bluetooth • Satellite • Rear entertainment system These features are important to me because I like to listen to my iPod in the car so the usb cord would work. Bluetooth is also helpful because you can talk on the phone without holding a phone. A rear entertainment system is important because people I drive might want to watch a movie on long trips.

  11. Specifications of the Pilot The Pilot has 250 horse power with a 3.5-liter i-VTEC® V-6 engine. It has a five speed automatic transmission. The Pilot has automatic 4 wheel drive and no traction loss front wheels.

  12. City Vs. Highway Miles Per Gallon of the Pilot City MPG: 18 MPG Highway MPG: 25 MPG Average Price of gallon of gas: $4 Average Miles a week I drive: 80 miles Total weekly gas bill: $13-$18

  13. Final Costs Honda Pilot Volkswagen Bug $22, 650 $32,920
