  3. FES Market Snapshot Retail Foreign Exchange Market size is approximately $ 7.0 billion in 2010-11 Currency Notes (CN), Traveller’s Cheque (TC), Travel Card contribute 50%, 30% and 20% FES market in India has been growing with the increase in outbound and inbound travel in the past few years.

  4. Customer Set Sale Resident Indians Foreign Nationals and NRI's – Should be staying in India for more than 182 days. Customer needs to fulfill the criterion regarding (a) Duration of stay (b) Purpose of stay. Reconversion of unspent INR ( Encashment Certificate required ) - Foreign Currency surrendered on arrival in India Foreign Nationals working in India ( proof required ) and earning in INR. Bank can provide facility to reconversion of Indian Rupees to the extent of Rs 50000/- to foreign tourist ( not NRI's) against ATM receipt based on the following documents     - Valid Passport and Visa     - Ticket confirmed for departure within 7 days.    -  Original ATM slip ( to be verified with the original debit/credit card )

Customer Set Sale Foreign Nationals and NRI's – ( Cont ) Bank may convert at their discretion, unspent Indian Currency up to Rs 10000/-  in the possession of Non Residents if, for bonafide reasons, the person is unable to produce an Encashment Certificate after ensuring that the departure is scheduled  to take place withing the following 7 days ( Proof of Ticket required ) . Purchase Resident Indians Indians returning from Abroad or Forex received as Gifts from relatives. Foreign Nationals Non Resident Indians.

Can be used like cash at retail locations or can be exchanged for local currency at banks, currency exchanges and travel service locations. ICICI Bank Travel Card- Prepaid Card In various currencies. Offers the safety and security needed when on the move. Can be used at VISA ATM's abroad for cash withdrawal and for shopping at retail locations accepting VISA Cards. Foreign Currencies- Currency Notes in various denominations. Carried by travellers to meet petty expenses like taxi fare.

  11. Travellers Cheque – American Express • Traveler’s Cheques (TC's) offers safety and security to customers when on the move. In the US they can be used like cash at retail locations, hotels and restaurants. Outside the US they can be used like cash at many locations, or exchanged for local currency at banks, currency exchanges, and Travel Service locations. • Available in the following currencies: USD ( United States Dollar ) , EURO, GBP ( Great Britain Pounds ) , AUD ( Australian Dollar ), CAD ( Canadian Dollar ) and JPY ( Japanese Yen ) • An alternative to Cash, travellers cheques are issued to customers travelling abroad that offer the safety and security needed when on move. • If lost or stolen, they can replaced within 48 hours, • TC's are considered the safest form of currency.

  12. In addition, they make it easier for a traveller to budget, track and control his travel expenses. • Travelers Cheque are recognised worldwide. These are accepted virtually anywhere in the world by most banks, service establishment and even by a large number of merchants. • Travellers Cheque never Expire unless dated.

ICICI Bank Travel Card (IBTC) is a pre-paid non personalised Visa debit card which can be loaded with the currency of the country the traveller is visiting, available in six currencies – USD ( United States Dollar ) , EURO, GBP ( Great Britain Pounds ) , AUD ( Australian Dollar ), CAD ( Canadian Dollar ) and CHF ( Swiss Francs ) Features and Benefits:- • Easy Access: it can be used at more than 27 million VISA merchant establishments and 1 million VISA ATM's across the world. • Security:ICICI Bank Travel Card is a 4-digit pin based card to protect against unauthorized cash withdrawals. All shopping is authorized on signature match. • Upper limit: As per the RBI guidelines for Retail and Corporate customers and Lower limit: 200 Units of the currency of loading.

  16. Foreign Currency Bills • Foreign Currency is the most easy and convenient way of transacting while one is traveling abroad. It is issued to customers travelling to another country for leisure, business, education or any other purpose. • According to FEMA guidelines, the maximum amount of currency that can be availed of for any purpose of travel is USD 3,000 or equivalent* • We deal in 7 Major Currencies and 6 Minor Currencies:- • Major Currencies :- USD ( United States Dollar ) , EURO, GBP ( Great Britain Pounds ) , AUD ( Australian Dollar ), CAD ( Canadian Dollar ) ,CHF ( Swiss Francs ) and JPY ( Japanese Yen ) • Minor Currencies :- AED ( UAE Dirhams ), SGD ( Singapore Dollars), HKD ( Hong Kong Dollars ), QAR ( Qatari Riyal ), SAR ( Saudi Riyal ) and KWD ( Kuwaiti Dinar ) • * check slide 21 for exceptions..

( Selling rate as per Days Card Sale Rate and Buying as per rate from FXOnline Buy Rate ) • Loading Charges : Rs 150/- and Reloading Charges – Rs 100/- Loading on Sale ( Deviation to be approved by Branch Manager – Circular 7165 ) • Incentive from Issuer :Payment in cph (cents/hundred Dollars)‏ • a) 2.15% of sale volume i.e. 97 paise per dollar. ( 1 usd is calculated at Rs 45/- ) Currency : • Exchange Margin : Difference between Selling & Buying rate . (Selling rate as per days Cards Sale Rate and Buy rate as per purchase rate from the money changer or other customers )

  19. Leisure travel (BTQ) / Private Travel Upto 10000 USD equivalent per Financial year(Apr1-Mar 31) . Documentation- Form A2, Valid Passport, Visa and Customer request letter. Business travel - Attending a Conference or Specialised Training 25000 USD equivalent per visit ( Addn to 25000 in a year with prior approval from RBI) Documentation-Business Letter from the corporate (on a letter head) as per ICICI format, Form A2, copy of Passport ( Verified against original ). Documentary evidence of Conference/Training ( Optional ) Medical Max USD 1,00,000 equivalent ( Per Medical Visit ) excess of USD 100,000 is allowed without any monetary limit subject to estimate from doctor in India or a doctor/hospital abroad. Documentation- Form A2, Valid Passport & Visa, Letter from Doctor (optional)‏ and Customer request letter. Travel Quota & Sale Documentation. The following limits and documentation apply to persons travelling abroad for specific purposes

  20. Education – Studies Abroad USD1,00,000 Equivalent per academic year or institute estimates whichever is higher. Documentation- Form A2, Valid Passport and Visa, customer request letter, Documentary Proof of educational institute abroad. Excess of USD 100000 is allowed with Fee Structure proof from the university. Emigration/Employment USD 1,00,000 equivalent per Employment Visit/ once for Emigration. Documentation- Form A2, Valid Passport and Visa, customer request letter , Documentary Proof of Employment. Cultural Tours Forex released on the strength of sanction from Ministry of Human Resource Development. Documentation- Permission from HRD, Form A2, Passport/Visa & customer self declaration. Travel Quota & Sale Documentation.

Documents to be issued by Branch On Sale Retail - Sales Invoice to be issued to the customer ( on Letter head ) Corporate – Sales Invoice to be issued to the employee of the corporate travelling abroad On Purchase Encashment Certificate ( On Letter Head ) to be issued to the customer. Exceptions as per USD 3000 equivalent Limit. • Travel to Libya or Iraq • Exchange should not exceed USD 5000 or its equivalent • Travel to Iran, Russian federation and other Republics of Commonwealth of Independent States. • Full exchange as per purpose may be released in currency.

  22. Documentation for purchase Foreign Exchange Photo Identity Documents Passport/Drivers Licence/Voters ID/PAN Card Copy in case of Resident Indians. Passport Copy is case of NRIs/Foreign Nationals. CDF (Currency Declaration Form), in following cases Value of Currency exceeds USD 5000 Value of Currency Notes and Traveler Cheques put together exceeds USD 10000 PAN Card, if value of foreign currency deposited exceeds Rs. 50,000 ( Indian nationals only )‏ Foreign Currency / TC’s received as gift Branch may purchase the same up to USD 2000 or equivalent Obtain a self-declaration in writing from the customer along with the photo identity document

Payment Modes/Limits Sale Transactions :- Payment can be accepted from the Customer by way of:- Cash • Limit – Rs.50,000 ( Pan required if the cash exceeds Rs 25000 ) Other Bank Cheque • Foreign exchange to be handed over only on realization of cheque proceeds Direct Debit to customer’s ICICI Bank account  Purchase Transactions :- Payment can be made to the Customer by way of Cash • Limit – USD 1000, in case of Resident Indians. PAN required in case INR exceeds Rs. 50000/- • USD 3000, in case of NRI’s and Foreign Nationals ( per month )‏ • DD/PO • Direct Credit to customer’s ICICI Bank account

System requirement. • FX Online • Software used for Deal booking with Treasury • Finacle • Software for passing sale and purchase entries • ORM (Outward Remittance Module) for sale • IRM (Inward Remittance Module) for purchase • InstaSell • Software used for activation, reload and refund of ICICI Bank Travel Card • STIR - Straight Through Inward Remittance • Software for putting TC details prior sending for collection to IIOG.

  25. How to Sell. • Need based product , therefore easy to sell • Inform all walk in customers about the offering • Target • Customers asking for account statements (usually required for Visa)‏ • Foreign Tourists/NRI’s for encashment • Customer depositing a cheque given by an FFMC/Authorised Dealer • Customer making a DD/cheque in favour of a Travel Agent/FFMC

  26. Scenarios:- • Mrs. Pandey asked her BM , Ms. Singh about the charges for usage of her INR Debit Card abroad. Ms. Singh informed her that a cross currency charge of 3.5% would be levied on each transaction. On being asked of an alternate option, Ms. Singh advised Mrs. Pandey to purchase a Travel Card, a prepaid card denominated in USD . Mrs Pandey was grateful for the advise and decided to purchase ICICI Bank Travel Card worth USD 25,000 The Branch earned a revenue of Rs. 35,000 and also the respect of the client for her advice! • Mr. Arora's son, Rahul had just secured admission in Yale University in USA, about which he was proudly telling his BM, Mr. Sahni. Mr. Sahni congratulated his client and informed him that the fee could be remitted by him through ICICI Bank to the University leading to Mr. Arora making the remittance of USD 1,20,000 from his account The Branch earned a revenue of Rs. 50, 000 and also the respect of the client for his advice!

  27. Scenarios:- • Mr. Bhatia asked Neha, his BM, the procedure for getting his 6 months account statement. On being inquired on the purpose of the same, Mr. Bhatia informed her that he was going to emigrate to Canada and required his statement for his Visa. Neha informed him about ICICI Bank's foreign exchange services, which led to Mr. Bhatia purchasing CAD 40,000 from the Bank. The Branch earned a revenue of Rs. 45, 000 and also the respect of the client for her willingness to extend help! • During a discussion with his BM Gaurav, Mr. Kapoor mentioned his plan to visit South Africa with his friends. Gaurav immediately offered to help him in organizing foreign exchange. Mr. Kapoor, glad for the help, purchased USD from the Bank and also convinced his friends to do the same leading to a collective purchase of USD 35,000. On their return, Mr. Kapoor and his friends got the unspent balance of USD 5,000 refunded from ICICI Bank. The Branch earned a revenue of Rs. 35, 000 and also the respect of the client for her advice!
