  3. Jesus was not lazy! • Jesus understood the work he was given to do, Jno. 4:34-35 (Lk. 19:10) • Servant,Mark 10:45 • Jesus was driven to accomplish his work, J ohn 9:4 (Prov. 22:13) • Excuses for not working breed complacency, procrastination and more laziness!

  4. Lazy Lessons • Prov. 6:6-11: Learn from others • Consider and be wise,v. 6 • Self-starter; uses time wisely, v. 7-8 • Discipline yourself: Don’t sleep when there’s work to be done, v. 9-10 • Spiritual work, Eph. 5:16; 1 Cor. 9:25-27; 1 Tim. 4:12

  5. Lazy Lessons • Prov. 19:15: Idleness breeds laziness • Hunger comes from idleness • Do not be apathetic (Prov. 26:13-16) • Spiritual work: Do not condition yourself to be satisfied with idleness • Exercise and grow,1 Tim. 4:7; Heb. 5:12-14 • Eagerness,Jno. 9:4 (Rom. 13:11; Eph. 5:14)

Lazy Lessons • Prov. 12:24: Lazy controlled by others • At the mercy & dictates of others • Spiritual work: Laziness puts us at risk of being controlled by others: • False teachers,Jude 3 (1 Jno. 4:1) • Regulations of men (Col. 2:20) • By sin,2 Ths. 3:11; 1 Tim. 5:13 • Be diligent (2 Tim. 2:15)

  9. Lazy Lessons • Prov. 22:13: If you don’t want to work, any excuse is good enough! • “Too risky” or “The timing is wrong” etc. • Spiritual work: Don’t look for excuses not to do the Lord’s work, Acts 24:25

  10. Not lagging in diligenceRomans 12:11 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58)
