  3. Is the gospel good today? • Is it out of date? • Do we need a new gospel? Why would we need A New Gospel ?

  4. Nothing has changed… • Man is the same • Sin is the same • Remedy is the same Gospel is power…

  5. Murderers were saved • Jews – Acts 2:36 • Jesus prayed – Luke 23:34 • Jews knew they were sinners • Acts 2:37 • Acts 2:38 • Acts 2:41,47 “…Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,…”

  6. Blasphemers were saved • Blaspheme = speak against • Saul - 1 Timothy 1:13 • Converted – Acts 9 • Asked what to do – v.6 • Was Penitent – v. 9 • Was told – vss. 6,8 • He was obedient v.18;Acts 22:16

  7. Saul not saved on road… • God sent him into city – Acts 9:6 • Saul went to find out what he was to do – Acts 9:8 • Ananias told him what to do – Acts 22:16 • IF saved, why so miserable? - Acts 8:39 • Still had sins 3 days later – Acts 22:16 Gospel is powerful enough to save A Blasphemer like Saul

  8. Sorcerers were saved • Simon - Acts 8:9-13 • Worker of witchcraft Exodus 22:18 • He was converted • Believed and baptized -Acts 8:13 • Like Mark 16:16 teaches • He was Saved!

  9. Immoral ones were saved • Some feel they are too evil to be saved • 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 • Acts 18:8 “many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.” Immoral people can be Saved by the Gospel !

  10. Religious peoplewere saved • Religious sinners • Sincere, honest - in error • Vain worship – Matthew 15:9 • Eunuch – Acts 8 • Philip preached Jesus Isaiah 53 • Asked to be baptized v. 36

  11. God-Fearing manwas saved • Cornelius – Acts 10 & 11 • Good man • But he was lost • Obeyed • Cannot be saved by morality alone

  12. The Heathen were saved • Heathen = one unenlightened • Jailer – Acts 16:16-34 • Knew nothing about Jesus • Heard, believed, baptized

  13. Sinner Hear - Romans 10:17 Believe - Hebrews 11:6 Repent – Acts 17:30,31 Confess – Romans 10:9,10 Baptized – Acts 2:38 Gospel is powerful enough to save you !
