  4. Cooinda Lodge Warragul: Residential Aged Care Facility – (60 beds) • Andrew’s House Trafalgar: Residential Aged Care Facility - (50 beds) • Community Health Centres in Warragul, Drouin, Trafalgar and Rawson • District Nurse Clinics in Warragul, Drouin, Trafalgar & Neerim South

  5. 2015 Intake • 8 positions- general program • 1 position -aged care program • 4 positions double degree- (gen/mid)program

  6. Academic Components • Continual professional development (Five paid 8 hour study days) • Grief & Bereavement • The deteriorating patient • Wound management • Respiratory care & therapies • CVAD (central venous access device) • Tutorials every fortnight(one hour) • Short presentation during one of the tutorial days

  7. Ward based assessments • Medication administration • Blood administration • Documentation audit • PCA competency • Syringe driver competency • IV cannulation

  8. Program Assessments • Infection control • Drug calculations • Annual BLS and Smart Lift Competency • My Work Plan x 2 per year • Clinical Performance Tool (feedback from preceptors)
