  1. CLIC01_SiD_p01 with QD0 support tube and anti-solenoid lose angular coverage in forward region: approximately ECAL: 155 mrad -> 290 mrad HCAL: 143 mrad-> 212 mrad Muons: 68 mrad -> 131 mrad loss of physics reach possibility to compensate by “plug” calorimeters -> additional weight to be carried by support tube ...

  2. CLIC01_ILD with QD0 support tube and anti-solenoid lose angular coverage in forward region: approximately ECAL: 160 mrad -> 200 mrad HCAL: 130 mrad-> 190 mrad Muons: 65 mrad -> 110 mrad loss of physics reach possibility to compensate by “plug” calorimeters -> additional weight to be carried by support tube ...

  3. Questions and Comments (1) • what are the consequences of the loss in forward angular • coverage (in the calorimeters and the muon system) ? • do we need a “ring” ECaland /or “plug” HCal ? • NB. BeamCal and LumiCal are covering  12 – 140 mrad • and can be seen as “ECal-like” • beware: adding a “plug” requires a stronger support tube • which in turn might mean additional loss of • angular coverage !
