When you come in… • Sit down at a computer and get logged in • Go to Edmodo.com • Log in • Don’t click on any of the links until further instruction is given • LASTLY – If you have signed in and are ready to go, use the left over time to study for your quiz • Noise level will be at a 0 (SILENT) during this time

  2. WHEN YOU COME IN… • Do you have your composition notebook? Your binder? Something to write with? • Open up to page 6 in your composition notebook. • That’s all! 

  4. Prepositions First, title the next page in your IEJ “Prepositions” and write down these sentences: Then, circle the prepositions you find in these sentences. The pizza in the oven is mine.   5. Prepositions • A preposition is a part of speech that shows a relationship between two things. • Location (on, under, in) • Timing (before, after, during) • Direction (from, toward, to)

  13. Prepositional Phrases in the oven by the door around the track These are prepositional phrases. Prepositional phrases start with a preposition and end with the object of a preposition.

  14. Object of a Preposition • The object of a preposition • must be a noun or a pronoun • always comes at the end of a prepositional phrase Example: The cookies are in the oven. Oven is a noun that ends the prepositional phrase. Oven is the object of the preposition.

  15. Put it all together… Indicate the prepositional phrases in these sentences. 1. After school, the boys played a game of baseball at the park. 2. We hid our canoe in the bushes and set up camp by the river. 3. Candy signed her name on the line and passed the paper across the table. 4. Without any warning, the dog dashed to the door and barked loudly. 5. The storm caused the tree in our front yard to fall against the house.
