  2. IPF Objectives Inform, Educate, Demonstrate, Cooperate To raise public awareness with regard to: • The importance of Polar Researchefforts and his contribution to understanding Climate Change. • The role of the Polar Regions in the dynamics of the World climate system • The vulnerability of the Polar Regions to climate change and pollution. • The role of scientific education in environmentally responsible development. The International Polar Foundation : www.polarfoundation.org

  3. IPF Approach Inform, Educate, Demonstrate, Cooperate • Raise the scientific capital of society by improving access to scientific education and information • Develop training and educational skills to help us adapt to the needs of the new energy economy • Promote investment in research • Develop networks for cooperation with like minded organisations • Demonstrate new technologies • Communicate on sustainable development issues The International Polar Foundation : www.polarfoundation.org

  4. The Polar Regions Communicating, monitoring, modelling • Early warning systems • Amplifiers of warming trends • Custodians of past climate record and deep time • Habitat for threatened fauna and flora • Home to Arctic indigenous peoples • Menace to low-lying regions • Beacons of wilderness, purity and preservation values The International Polar Foundation : www.polarfoundation.org
