  1. What Did Christmas Cost Jesus? Philippians 2:6-8

  2. Scripture Reading • Philippians 2:6-8 (NIV) 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!

  3. Point # 1 • Christmas Cost Jesus: Everything He Had! For Jesus to go from God to nothing, there is no greater cost. • Philippians 2:6-7 (NIV) 6 Who, being in very nature God…7 but made himself nothing…

  4. Point # 2 • Christmas cost Jesus: His Total Freedom! He willingly chose to limit Himself as a Man. • Philippians 2:6-7 (NIV) 6 …did not consider equality with God something to be grasped…7 … taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

  5. Point # 3 • Christmas cost Jesus: His Life! Jesus did not die just a normal old age type of death but a death on the cross for my sins. • Philippians 2:6-7 (NIV) 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!

  6. Conclusion • It would be a shame, if Christmas cost Jesus that much, to leave Him out. • It would be a shame, if Christmas cost Jesus that much, that you don’t make Him the focal point of your Christmas.
