Course Description • Upon successful completion of Physics, students will: • develop curiosity and involvement with phenomena in their natural environment; • develop appreciation for the contribution of science to daily living; • understand and utilize the close relationship between Mathematics and Physics; and • deepen their scientific and mathematical thinking.

  5. Lab Fee • There is a lab fee of $5.00 per semester to pay for lab supplies. • Payment goes to the bookkeeper.

  6. Class Organization • This class is conducted using a combination of lecture, activities, and labs. Some of these will be computer simulations. • During class, students will be working both in groups and individually to complete assignments. • There will be a test or quiz at least once a week. • There will be independent assignments (homework).

Classroom Rules • Respect your time and the time of othersCome to class on time, prepared, and eager to learn • Use appropriate language when in class • Respect the furniture, equipment, and materials in the science classroom and laboratory • Gum, food and drinks are not allowed • Be Safe! • Respect ALL school rules

Progressive Discipline Plan • First Issue- warning- conference with student/reteach expectation • Second Issue- Conference with student, phone call home and after school/lunch detention • Third Issue- Conference with student and parent • Fourth Issue-Sent to dean of students or den/detention/tutoring **depending on the infraction and/or student behavior steps may be eliminated
