  2. 1 John Series Love is Perfected1 John 4:12-21

  3. “No one has ever seen God”No one will ever literally see God while here on earth, emphasizing His Deity.

  4. In Ex 33:18-20, Moses was given a glimpse at the deity of God but could not look directly upon it. Ultimately what Moses witnessed was God's glory.

  5. 3 Categories of Preincarnate Theophanies of Jesus Christ.

  6. 3 Categories of Preincarnate Theophanies of Jesus Christ. 1) As a man, Gen 18; 32:24-32; Ex 24:9-11.

  7. 3 Categories of Preincarnate Theophanies of Jesus Christ. 2) As a phenomenon of nature, Ex 3:2; 25:22; 33:9-23; Lev 16:2, 13.

  8. 3 Categories of Preincarnate Theophanies of Jesus Christ. 3) As the angel of the Lord,Gen 16:7-13; 22:11-18.

  9. There also were Christophanies (manifestations post resurrection). Mark 16:9-13; John 20:11-16,

  10. The transfiguration was another revelation of the glory of God but not a revelation of His full deity. Mat 16:27-17:13; Mark 9:1-13; Luke 9:27-362 Peter 1:16-18

  11. A thing transfigured is the outshining of a light or vitality which is resident within. Christ’s transfiguration was His intrinsic Shekinah glory allowed to be seen.

  12. He was not merely assuming a glory or standing in the radiance of an outward glory that fell upon Him. The glory was His own, and originated in Him and emanated from Him.

  13. John 1:18, “No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God (Jesus Christ) who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.”

  14. We too can be transfigured and not merely transformed. Made possible by the divine presence within us, (GPS), as the light of God. Rom 12:2; 2 Cor. 3:18

  15. Rom 12:2, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transfigured by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

  16. 2 Cor 3:18, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transfigured into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.”

  17. John 6:46,“Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father.”

  18. 1 Tim 6:16,“Who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.”

  19. The divine essence of each member of the Trinity is invisible to the human eye. 1 Cor 2:9-13; 2 Cor 4:18; Heb 11:1

  20. 2 Cor 4:18, “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

  21. Heb 11:1,“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

  22. Why this out of place comment?

  23. 1) Because of the False Teachers. They were claiming to have had mystical visions of God, misrepresenting 1 John 3:2-3.

  24. 2) For the believer's understanding. The way in which we can envision God is purely by His character of love as demonstrated and made manifest in the Cross, verse 9.

  25. 3) For the believer's service. In Christians’ sacrificial love, our passages.

  26. We cannot become acquainted with Him by sight, but we may by the application of love.

  27. There are 3 statements of “Perfected” and 3 of “knowledge”. 3 represents Divine Perfection and 6 is the number of man. Man's knowledge of God demonstrated through the application of divine love equals the Divine Perfection of God in you.

  28. The contingency depends on whether you reside in God's Power System (GPS) or whether you live out your life in great misery inside Satan's Cosmic System.

  29. There are 3 statements of “Perfected” and 3 of “knowledge”. 3 represents Divine Perfection and 6 is the number of man. Man's knowledge of God demonstrated through the application of divine love equals the Divine Perfection of God in you. Transfigured
