  1. Brokering: Concept • The broker must be understood as a special type of borrower. The broker looks for potential lenders for a request placed by a borrowing library (OCLC) in the same way that a borrowing library looks for potential lenders.

Creation of Locations by OCLC ISO Requests • OCLC borrowers will send requests to Colombo libraries which are suppliers in OCLC. • If the borrowing location does not exist in VDX, it will be created on the fly from data in the Policies Directory and the request may thus be entered automatically in VDX. • There are more than 10,000 libraries registered in OCLC

  4. Steps • Implementation of ISO interoperability with OCLC as borrower • Testing to prepare documentation • We will offer on site training just before implementation (institution by institution) • OCLC allows libraries to use ISO as borrower and use OCLC as lender, i.e. a lending library can choose when to move ISO.
