  9. Candidate Plan of Study The single most important document for your successful graduation is your INDIVIDUAL Degree Plan. At UHCL, the degree plan is called the CPS Candidate Plan of Study

  10. Candidate Plan of Study • Your CPS specifically states: • Exactly which classes you must take to graduate • The number of credit hours you must earn to graduate • The minimum grades you must make to graduate

  11. Undergraduate CPS

  12. Candidate Plan of Study You will receive your draft CPS DURING your first semester. 6 -10 weeks into the semester, all new students will be e-mailed an official draft CPS sent to your UHCL E-mail. We will be happy to accommodate veterans and others who need a degree plan prior to fee payment with a generic temporary plan that is accepted for one semester. Upon receiving your plan, you will then print it and meet with your faculty advisor to finalize your degree plan. A copy of the final plan will be e-mailed to you for your signature.

  13. Candidate Plan of Study Fill in your grades on your final CPS as you complete your classes. Check your CPS every semester before you register. Check with your faculty advisor before changing any electives.

  14. CPS vs. Computer AR CPS Candidate Plan of Study A simple one page complete list of classes needed for graduation. The signed official document used for graduation AR Advising Report Multipage computer generated document For transfer credit, they commonly require corrections.

  24. Grade Point Average (GPA) • All Undergraduate Students • Must maintain an overall UHCL GPA of at least 2.00 • Other requirements vary by major • Biology BA and BS do not accept grades below C , with a few exceptions as noted on the CPS • Other degrees do not accept grades below C- except some degrees in someelectives THESE GRADE REQUIREMENTS ARE LISTED ON YOUR CPS

  25. Grade Point Average (GPA) Cumulative GPA The average of the grades earned in ALL of the classes for which you have earned credit * at UHCL. *If a class is repeated, the last grade replaces the first grade in the GPA calculation.

While on probation, the semester GPA must be 2.00 or better every semester until the cumulative GPA rises to 2.00, at which time the student is removed from probation. Suspension If, while on probation, a student earns a semester GPA of less than 2.00, the student is placed on suspension, cannot attend UCHL for one semester, and must request reinstatement. A second suspension is for one year. A third suspension is forever. Be aware of UHCL’s +/- grading system: BEWARE! The grade of C- is only 1.667 points
