  8. Find Full Text • Select a group of references • Activate the command • Be cautious running simultaneous applications • PDFs are accessible within the record • All pdfs not found by EndNote must be searched in the digital library and ACORN – due to limitations of the program, # URLs retained

  9. Never, Never allow duplicate citations in your database. One person controls the document. Many people can add citations to a database if located on a shared server space. Establish rules for your group. Two people cannot open and add citations simultaneously. In the Tools menu, locate the preferences for CWYW, Disable “Instant Formatting” Use curly brackets for temporary citations – See Edit Menu – Preferences – Temporary Citations Once temporary citations are inserted into a document do not save in multiple locations Save manuscripts with temporary citations as a working document with a date: my2012grant_working 7_15_12 Save manuscripts with bibliographies: my2012grant_bib 7-20-12 Differentiate between working documents and documents with bibliographies When using EndNote on a large manuscript, multi-tasking is discouraged, especially during Formatting bibliography operation Save all databases and manuscripts on a server to insure you have a backup in case of disaster When collaborating with a co-author do not cut and paste WORD text from a document with tracking!
