Review 2011 • Presentation on August 30 at ITU-CITEL conference in Argentina • Presentation on August 16 at GSMA LA Roaming Conference in Montego Bay Jamaica • 2011 Atlantic Hurricane season = 19 named storm, 7 reached hurricane strength, 3 made land-fall.Turks and Bahamas impacted by Irene.
Fold & Keep • Members will be reminded to update Fold & Keep. • This document contains the primary & secondary contacts for all Members in the event of emergency. • Will Updated on CANTO’S portal by End of February.
Disaster Plans • The Committee recognized the emphasis placed on hurricane disaster Plans by members. • The committee recommended that the following plans be developed by members • Industrial Action • Earthquake • Terrorism • Flooding
TRAINING • Proposed sensitization training at Miami Conference – Globecomm & Global VSAT Forum (GVF). • Explore at lease one training opportunity on a cost recovery basis.
DRP PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES 2012 • Send out Hurricane tips before start of season • Get contact information for DRP representative of members • The DRP Committee recommends that all members conduct a comprehensive power audit of all their facilities on location • All correspondence from the DRP Committee will be shared with other Committee Chairs • Get name of companies willing to consider providing support through CANTO in the event of a disaster • Explore the possibility with Secretariat to establish a disaster Fund.

DRP PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES 2012 • Investigate and deepen relationship with: • Caricom • ITU • Tropical Shipping • Send information to Companies sensitizing them on Earthquake and the need for disaster preparedness. • Share with Members a Corporate Disaster Framework from which members can develop their own plans.
