  1. Detector status Zoltán Fodor Wigner Research Centre for Physics, Hungarian Academy of Sciences

  2. BEAM counters Beam optics New quadrupole magnet just before the BPD2, to focus better the low energy HI beam /installation is decided, the usage must be tested/ Track measurements only with 2 BPD, AM checked no major degradation S1, S2, S4, V0, V1 No change BPDs New preamplifier /see next page/ To solve the problem of the gain measurements Z counter for Be beam A counter for low energy Be run To small size for beam acceptance LMDP Ready to work, tested in last year To do: He sac around the target Ilia

  3. New preamplifiers for BPD The inputstage of the charge integrator includes a pair of symmetricallyconnected JFET transistor. Due o thisconstuctionourchargeintegratorsare protectedagainst the inputvoltageoverflow, withoutdeteriorating theirnoiseproperties.

  4. Magnet Cryo system New control system, changed the old elements, new software needed, could be some delay relative to the planed time schedule but the magnet would be ready for the test run Maintenance done One mechanical part had to be changed because of damage Power converter Changed some cards and maintenance done after Be run in last year, has to be checked at first day of test run Hall detector would be necessaries

  5. TPC Noise in VTPC2 Source of the noise is the grounding the isolation plates between the FE cards Unfortunately we have to spend some times when it is occur Aging of the power cables Found some broken isolation at the end of the cable, until now not caused problem Has to be repair /cut 3 cm, and put back into the connectors/, planed in 2013 during shutdown New pulser for pedgain measurements Mechanically installed, has to connect and check the noise in the TPCs GAS system No major changes, but we want to integrate in the DCS the readout of the status of the system /gas composition, pressure difference, O2 and water content with automatic TPC selection/ Maintenance of the pumps are down Filter regeneration planed at startup time The filters on drift velocity measurements has to be taken out

  6. Updates: Hardware for GAS control Acquire parameters of GAP-TPC Bronkhorst HI-TEC, 2 channels additional field-bus station Drilling of holes (W.Dominik) in-situ (many pipes, delicate places) with necessary care ! Integration into LAN resp. DCS LAN ? 3rd LAN adapter ? do LAN cabling by ourselves Interface with DCS (to be clarified)

  7. DCS Some of the DCS computer using old network of the building 892, it would be shutdown We have to move them to the new ones We have to write the documentation of the used networks The gas quality monitoring system started to update, we have to finish and extend to the GTPC ???

  8. TOFs Problem with high voltage distribution Change the active distribution /CAEN/ to the passive one Ordered the connectors but the delivery time too long, we have to use the old /repaired/ CAENs, and change The readout /~2000 channel/ We are using a FASTBUS/VME combination for TOF measurement and we do not have spare pieces, CFDs for TOFR FASTBUS, TOFL and FTOF VME, QDC,TDC: FASTBUS, readout controller VME FICprocessor  have to change the full electronics The work is planed for the shutdown time 3 realization of the same principle: own development done by Dubna group, CAEN or PSI units, GSI developed system

  9. PSD The calorimeter is completed and ready to use Cooling of the MAPS with airflow done Calibration during test run and physics run Problem of readout the position Some electrical noise problem corrected Mechanical vibration at starting move up change the red value of horizontal positions /unfortunately the change not random, always the same direction/  change fixation of the sensor as it is done for vertical measurements would be done during MD 6.June

  10. He sacs and boxs Around target For LMPD detector new construction For C and Be target repaired in last year Box between the target and VTPC1 OK Tubes in the VTPCs works correctly Box between VTPC and MTPC some small leaks Sac between MTPCs has to be repaired, /the used glue was different as for the He tube in the VTPCs/.

  11. Trigger No major upgrade The timing has to be done for the hadron and HI measurements New CFD /with veto possibility/ planed to be produced and replaced the CFD of the start counter but it could not be done in BUDAPEST /the guy is retired/ and it is not done in Geneva. Some small changes is done in the communication to DAQ, but it is a room for improvement

  12. Before 8.May Reinstallation of He box between target and VTPC done 6. June 24h MD TOF HV preparation Jovan Mechanical change of the position readout sensor on PSD support Tadeus Ethernet cable installation for the cameras on PSD 13. June Start up gas on TPCs Take out the filters from drift velocity monitors Regeneration of the filters Reorganization of DCS computers /remove obsolete network/ 18. June AM Test beam start up Installation of target holder and beam counters Martin, geometers Converter test magnet specialist PSD cabling 19 June /or earlier after cabling finished/ Beam setup CEDAR calibration for 120 GeV protons PSD warm up until 20h

  13. 19 20h,20, 21 June PSD calibration with m 120 GeV 22. June 158 GeV beam, without magnet Calibration of PSD outer part 23. June Beam 120 GeV protons Ramp up magnets for 120 GeV??? /could be smaller, but not higher/ Set S4 to the beam position dependent of the field Calibration of PSD with 120 GeV protons Test data for pC 120 GeV 24. June Continue calibration of PSD and test data taking 25-27 June long MD Installation of LMDP support and beam counters Martin, geometers Kr measurements in VTPC1 28. June Beam setup. …….. Trigger setting Data taking

  14. 20.-24. Aug during big MD Change target holders for C and Be target Martin, geometers 24. Aug. 20h start p beam 158 GeV for checking the cross section measurements 27. Aug. Be beam start Set S4 position for Be location Installation of Cherenkov counters Beam setup Be runs with energy 13 GeV.A /half statistics/ 20 GeV.A /full statistics/ 30 GeV.A /full statistics/ 13 GeV.A /full statistics/
