  12. Test Anxiety • In larger amounts, test anxiety can interfere or even impair our capacity to think, plan, and perform on tests.

  14. WHAT CAN YOU DO DURIINGTHE TEST? • Get to the exam on time, not too early and not too late • Think positively. Relax and calm yourself down using the following exercises:---

  15. EXERCISE #1COUNTING TEN DEEP BREATHS • Allow yourself to feel passive and indifferent, counting each breath slowly from ten to one. • With each count, allow yourself to feel heavier and more relaxed. • With each exhale; allow the tension to leave your body.

  16. EXERCISE #3WHOLE BODY TENSION • Tense everything in your whole body; stay with the tension, and hold it as long as you can without feeling pain • Slowly release the tension and very gradually feel it leave your body • Repeat ten times

  17. EXERCISE #2SHOULDER SHRUG • Try to raise your shoulders up to your eyes • Hold for the count of four • Now drop your shoulders back to a normal position • Repeat ten times

  19. HOW CAN YOU MASTER Objective Test Questions What is an Objective Test? • Objective Tests examine ability to recall and think about information • True/False, Multiple Choice, Fill in the Blank

  20. HOW CAN YOU MASTER Subjective Questions What is a Subjective Test? • Also examine ability to recall and think about information go a step further • They require you to think critically and draw conclusions. • Wording gives you cues as to what kinds of mind actions to perform.

HOW CAN YOU MASTER Multiple Choice Questions • Consider all alternatives before choosing an answer • Anticipate the answer and look for something close to it (knowing material) • Avoid answers with 100 percent words • Consider answers with qualifying words (more likely to be included in a correct response)

HOW CAN YOU MASTER Multiple Choice Questions Con’t. • Choose the intended answer withoutoveranalyzing (know your material) • Read the question together with each question as if it were a true/false statement. • If the answer makes the statement a false one, cross it out. • Underline key words and phrases in the question

  23. Contain more true answers than false answers. Require close attention to qualifiers, negatives, and long strings of statements. Simplify double negatives by canceling out both Have qualifiers that are words which restrict or open up general statements. For instance: No, Never usually imply false.
