  1. Choosing a Great Pair of Shoes for Skateboarding

  2. If you like to skate or simply like the look of skate shoes, there are actually some tips that can help you find a great pair of shoes that will wear well and look great for a long time. Take these tips with you and find a quality pair of shoes today!

  3. Shoe Material

  4. It goes without saying that the material the shoes are made from will play a big part in determining your level of satisfaction and how well they wear with time and use. If you skate often, you're going to need a pair of shoes that can keep up, whereas someone who doesn't skate as often can get away with a more light-weight shoe.

  5. While hemp and canvas shoes are light and breathable, they won't last if you're hitting the park every day. If the park is your thing, you will want to look for more durable suede or leather shoes.

  6. Stitching Matters

  7. If you skate often, you've probably had a pair of shoes rip apart at the seams. This is why stitching is so important. For a really durable skate shoe, look for a pair with at least double, if not triple, stitching. That's your reinforcement!

  8. Shoe Profile

  9. Whether you like a high, mid or low top shoe is totally a matter of personal preference. While some people like the feeling of more support while skating, others feel restricted by high tops. For some, the freedom of a low top is exactly what they need, while others like the middle of the road where shoes with a mid-profile offer a little support without feeling too clunky.

  10. Sole Construction

  11. This is a vital part of any shoe, but the sole is particularly important for skating. The two most popular types are cupsole, where the sole provides a little more support by cupping around your foot, or the vulcanized sole, which are very flexible and feel pretty great on your feet.

  12. While some prefer a vulc sole for everyday skating, others who are doing big tricks often may like the added support of the cupsole. It's totally a matter of personal preference.
