  2. Narrative and genre • The wolf of Wall street is a crime drama/ dark comedy. It follows corruption and crime through the concept of politicians and bankers. • This could be reflective of bankers and politicians today, there is always a suspicion that crime is involved. • The film is also based on a true story, Leonardo Di Caprio plays a real life motivational speaker and former investment banker. He was convicted of securities fraud and money laundering. • Though I haven't seen the film in full I know it uses some of Scorsese's typical conventions, for example continuous shots with lots going on as well as brutal violence.

  3. Funding/financing • Producers include Martin Scorsese, Leonardo Di Caprio, Emma TillingerKoskoff, Joey Macfarland and Riza Aziz. • The film had a budget of $100 million and made $118,841,968. • This huge budget comes mainly from Di Caprio and Scorsese themselves.

  4. Development • The script was written by Martin Scorsese. He was said to have started working on it before “Shutter Island” but only got the production go ahead in 2012. • Jordan Belfort made $1 million in letting The studio make a film about him. • Di Caprio fought Brad Pitt in a biding war for the rights to the film, Di Caprio won.
